Day 1 of my trip to Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is up on the DISboards!!

57 days out and just did online check-in! Can’t wait to have a Dole Whip on the beach!

100 days until Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort!!

Day 1: Coronado Springs, Dinner, and Premier of UP

Trip Details:

Resort - Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Dates - May 29th, 2009 - June 1st 2009

Travel Party - Myself, Chris (boyfriend), Katherine (Chris’ sister), my Mother, my Father, and Damia (niece, 3).

We were heading to Walt Disney World to celebrate my 21st birthday! It was during the promotion where you got into the parks free on your birthday, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to go back since I hadn’t been to WDW in 6 years. [But it turns out we had much more to celebrate!]

Checking into Coronado Springs Resort:

View from outside our door:

Our room was very nice. It was a little less themed than the other resorts, but we survived. The grounds were beautiful and we never saw too many other guests—nice and relaxing. After dropping off our luggage, we walked over to have dinner at Maya Grill.

Playing peek-a-boo with Grandma:

I honestly don’t remember what we ate, but it was standard Disney food. We had fun a fun family dinner together, even with added entertainment with my niece playing peek-a-boo with her grandmother. And like all young picky-eaters, Damia didn’t eat much, either, but she did enjoy her ice cream! Isn’t she a cutie?

From here, Chris, Katherine and myself headed to Downtown Disney. I had reserved tickets to view the new Disney•Pixar movie, UP on opening day and I was so excited. We went shopping first, made personalized shirts, and headed down to the theatre.

Opening day of UP at Downtown Disney:

Within the first 5 minutes of the movie, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Chris held my hand which made me tear up even more. The movie was absolutely amazing and has become an instant favorite amongst the three of us.

After the movie, we ran back to pick up our customized t-shirts and then headed back to Coronado Springs. We had an early morning at EPCOT planned the next day.

To Be Continued…

Just booked our first trip for Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort for May 2014!!! We are going with my parents and staying in a 2-bedroom villa for 5 nights. Expect a trip report! SO EXCITED.

Adventures by Disney just announced a 2014 itinerary to Norway! (Inspired by the upcoming animated film, Frozen.) I REALLY want to go. My family and I have an obsession with the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT and adore Malestrom. I must know when the travel dates are!

New Fantasyland

*This part isn’t as fun, but I’d like to think it’s helpful for others planning a Disney vacation. Check out how much money two people spent at Disney World over the course of 3 days!

Dinner at Le Cellier

Day 2 : Part 3 of my trip report has been written! [Check out the food pics!]

Disneyland 2005

I’m so upset because we never took pictures when we went to Disneyland. Honestly, we probably didn’t even own a digital camera in 2005, since I had to take every picture of our first WDW trip on disposable cameras in 2003.

I only have a couple of blown-out pictures from a film camera that I took and this ride photo from Space Mountain. It’s one of my favorite memories (and let’s face it, my parents look hysterical).

We stayed off property and walked over to the parks. The Christmas decor was up and beautiful. I secretively might like Disneyland more than Walt Disney World. I can’t wait to go back.
